Past and present pets!

Next is a pet that I got in August 2013, this time it was one of my own pets and it was my own  responsibility. For weeks and weeks on end me and my brother decided that we wanted a hamster that we could both look after together, but both our parents said no. However a few months after we went to a garden center and I was looking at all of the cute animals and I found the cutest ball of fluff ever, so I went back to mum and was begging and begging and she still said no, but I didn't give up. At this point my brother decided that it would be better just for me to have one and not him as he would miss having Rose and Patch in his room too much, but he was still on my side and was up for me getting one. So when we went back to the garden center a few weeks later I was still begging mum and I showed my brother which one it was that I so badly wanted and in the end Mum and Dad gave in and helped me pick a cage and all the things I would need for him, then we asked the woman about him and she got him out for me and told us everything we needed to know. So we got him home and he settled in well. When we brought him we were told that he wasn't very old but after researching the Syrian species I realized he was a lot older than what we were first told. At the time I was obsessed with one direction ( I still love them now) so I decided to call him Louis after Louis Tomlinson! Louis lived for around 3 months in my home before he sadly died from old age. The night Louis died was on a Thursday and I remember this because Patch was found on the Saturday morning the same week, so I lost 2 of my pets in a week.

Hello everyone, for today's post I wanted to talk about all of my past and present pets that I have had. Most of them are family pets and not just mine but I am only 15.

Happy Halloween!
The first pet that I can remember is a cat. When I was very young my parents got a little kitten, she was a torture shell and was super cute. She was called Kylie and my parents actually named her after Kylie Minouge. I remember she used to wait for me and my brother to come home from school, at first she tried to follow my mum when she left the house to pick us up but she had to keep bringing her back home so after a while she finally learnt not to so in the summer she would wait on the wall that was by our house and then as soon as she could see us she would run over to us and in the winter she would wait on the window sill until we would appear and then she would run to the door and wait for us there. Sadly Kylie was ill, I'm not sure what it was called but lets just say she had problems controlling going to the toilet. I remember one Christmas eve she had an accident all over the presents and mum had to clear it all up and unwrap and re wrap them! This was funny at first, although I would not like to be the person who had to deal with it. Another funny story I remember about Kylie is when it was my brothers birthday. Because my brother is a summer baby we had a BBQ party for him with all the family around. When it was cake time we were all sitting on the picnic table we had in the back garden and our cousin had just out his cake on the table, so kylie decided she wanted a piece of the cake so she just snatched it right off his plate! She was a naughty cat but that was so funny, his face when she stole it was just hilarious.  Sadly in  early 2010 she died, in the February of 2010 we were due to move house but her life came to an end just a month before. Here are my favorite pictures of her.

Meow!!

When we still had Kylie me and my brother also had some hamsters. I think this is where my love of rodents came from. We had Snowy, Snowball and then two gerbils at the same time Snowflake and Troy. (Troy was mine and as you can tell I like high school musical a bit too much at the time.) I don't have any pictures to show you of them but I will tell you a funny story about one of the gerbils. Well they would both chew like crazy at there cage and because it had pipes and tunnels it made it easy for them to escape so Snowflake would get out and climb all the way up the stairs and scratch at mum and dads door every single night. I also had a hamster called Sadie,  but only when I was very little so I can't really remember her but I will tell you a story about her too. This is one I have been told many times by my both mum and dad so here is the story. Sadie and Kylie used to really get on and not once did kylie try to hurt her at all, but one day when mum went to Sadie's cage to feed her and play with her she wasn't there so mum and dad thought she had escaped and after looking everywhere for her for days and days they just couldn't find her so thought that Kylie might have hurt her so after about four days they gave up and packed all her cage up but on one night 7 days after she had been missing when they were sat in the living room watching TV they heard kylie meowing and she kept coming in and out of the kitchen into the living room and jumping on Dads knee and then back down into the kitchen. Dad just thought she was being greedy and wanted food so he ignored her but after she kept on persevering in the end they got up and went to see what she wanted and there was Sadie! She had been asleep right behind the washing machine and just came out looking for food when Kylie spotted her so she told mum and dad and Sadie was just sitting there, so mum and dad set her home back up and they still don't know how she escaped, but just how cute is that??

So lets talk about our next pets, in the summer of 2010 our new home didn't feel like home without little kittens, so mum looked in the paper and on the internet and decided to ring up a farm who told us to come to the farm to see her. So that's what we did, we drove up to the farm with a basket in the back of the car and when we got there she was waiting for us with two little black and white kittens, they looked so so adorable and cute bundled up in her arms. When we got them home they were so small, tiny even and Rose couldn't even walk and she was crying and crying so me and mum spent weeks sleeping down stairs every night looking after them both. So when we got them home we sat down and decided on names. I thought up of the name Patch because she had little patches of black and white all over her so that was the name we went with. My mum and brother came up with the other kittens name, they named her after Rose Tyler from doctor who as that was what they were obsessed with at the time.

Sisterly Love <3

Rosie!

How cute?!?!

I'm just gonna sleep zzzz

Rose on the first day we got her home

Meow

Hi there!

Who wants a fight??

What is this cold, white stuff covering the ground??

Patch- but not looking very impressed

Ok, so you tell me its falling from the sky??
What, I'm only trying to catch some fish

Rose is still living happily 5 years on but unfortunately I can't say the same for Patch, in October 2013 she went missing, at first we just thought she was a dirty stop out and didn't come home over night, but she didn't come back at all so we went out looking in bushes and asked people to check in sheds. We went on facebook and posted pictures and asked everyone we knew, but there was no sign. 2 days later after school I heard screams and whines so I went out door to door with a photo, I did all of our street and there was nothing at all but on the next street about 8 houses down the man answered the door and I asked him and he said next door found her on the door step, dead. At first she seemed like she was sleeping, he said but then when he went back to her she was stone cold, so he called the RSPCA up and they told him to call the council, who told him to wrap her up and put her in the council bin! That day wasn't the best, but we still have Rose who is healthy and well.

Where's all the food gone??
Hello!
The next pet is one of my own, this is the first hamster that was my own responsibility and I had begged for weeks for mum and dad to let me get one and in the end they did! When we went to the garden center at the start of August 2013 I went to look in the pet section and I saw the most adorable hamster and then I spent weeks begging to mum and dad but they still said no. When we went back there a few weeks later I showed my brother the hamster and he joined in so in the end mum gave in, she brought over a cage and all the things I needed for him and asked the woman about him. She told us that he was a long haired, male Syrian who was still a baby so we took him home. We settled him in and I started my research it was at that point we realized he wasn't as young as we were first told and he was actually a lot older. So after 3 months in October 2013 he sadly died!

I still have the next pet I'm going to tell you about and she is a female short haired Syrian hamster. I'm not going to go into too much detail about Maisie because I did a blog post about her on her birthday. ( or the day I got her home.) I got he on the 4th of may 2014 so I've had her just over a year now and she is still alive and well. I will link the blog post at the end of today's blog if you are interested in reading that one, but for now enjoy looking at                                                                   the cute pictures of her.

Ohhh that looks interesting

Ohhh hi!!

Alrighty guys, that's all I have for you today. I certainly enjoyed writing this one and remembering all of the cute and funny things that our past and present pets did. If you enjoyed it please let me know in the comments and I will see you soon,

Body Image- Be body confident!

Hi everyone,
Earlier today I read an article about Megan Trainor and body image and it got me thinking. The article was saying that in her song "all about that bass" she spreads a bad message about body size. As a thinner girl I do sometimes feel insecure about my weight when people make comments about my weight such as "you look like a stick" and "Do you eat, because it doesn't look like it?" These comments are unkind but everyone gets them weather they are thin or curvy.
In Megan's song it does say some things that thinner girls, like my self could find offensive, for example it says "skinny bitches" and this gives us the impression that we should all have curves and should be ashamed to have a thin figure but this is not the case if you have a petite figure, like me, you should be proud and the same if you have curves. As long as your aren't unhealthy  then you should be happy with what you look like.
I do like this song but is it sending the right message out to teenagers who are already confused about what they should look like? Let me know what your view on this and I will talk to you again next time.
P.S this is a little link to the blog that inspired me to write this.
https://ambitiouslyliving.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/why-i-will-never-respect-meghan-trainor/

I know this is a little shorter than normal but that is what I think about that song and I wanted to say whatever your size it doesn't matter as long as you are happy and healthy with your own body image then what ever it says in a song shouldn't influence us, but it does. So thank you for reading and ill see you again soon,
Good bye Makeup Wonderland x

Clothes and makeup haul!

Hello everybody, today's post is going to be a haul, over the past few months I have been buying bits and bobs of makeup, clothes and jewelry so I wanted to share it with you.

Firstly lets start off with clothes- I have a jumper from primark, it is the fluffiest, warmest and cutest Disney jumper. It is a black and white jumper made out of a soft material  and it has become one of my favorites to wear with almost everything, leggings, jeans and jeggins.

Also from primark I have 2 tops, both for around £2.00 I think, but I can't be sure. One of the tops is a bright pink with bold black writing saying "love is the key to my heart." The second  is in a much lighter color with bronze sequins  spelling out the two words "shine bright." These two tops are something that I really like to wear and again they can be work with anything.

Next are two dresses, both from newlook. The first one is a burgundy color, it is quit low cut at the front so its not something  I would normally go for but I really like this. The style of this dress is what drawn me to it, it is a skater dress, which is mostly the same as most of my other dresses because it is what suits me the most. The second one is also a skater style but this time its grey, with short sleeves and a white collar, this was in the sale for £7.00 down from £19.99.

Now moving on to jewelry-  I have two necklaces, firstly a gold one with a small triangle shape with three diamonds on it. The next one again has a small gold chain with "#BFF" written on it, this was brought as a two pack, I got this for my friends birthday so one went to her and this one stayed with me.These again are both from primark.

I have three items of makeup next.- I have a foundation to start of with, the maybelline new York fit me foundation in the shade 125. This is something I only got a few days ago so I have only worn this a few times although I can say that I think it is a very thin foundation but gives me enough coverage as I don't really have many spots, apart from the freckles that I have across my nose and cheeks I don't have anything else to cover, so it does the job for me.

Next I have bitten the bullet and brought a pallet that I can use to fill my brows in, I have always been scared to do this but I saw this for only a pound and decided to give it a go. It is a hello kitty eye shadow quad in amber sands. Looking past the fact that it is hello kitty I thought that it had some perfect colors for me to use on my brows. I use the 2 lightest colors to give my brows a little bit of definition and just to add more color to them as naturally they are very light and so look pretty much non existent. In here are four colors, a light brown, a dark brown (which are the 2 I mix together to use.) A  grey toned brown and an ash brown. I feel like the dark brown could be used in the crease and so could the lighter one so they can be used for anything.

Next I have a lip pencil, this isn't something I use a lot because it will just dry my lips out so much., but i saw this and I really liked it. It is a pink color and it's drying at all and I really like it. This is the Rimmel London Lasting finish 1000 kisses stay on lip contouring pencil in 007 Rose Quartz.

Lastly I have something for my hair- Because I haven't had my hair cut in a long while I do have really badly damaged hair, with really bad split ends so when I saw this I thought I would give it a go. It is the pantene pro- v hair strength tonic breakage defence. So far I really like it, it is a gel like consistency that you put all over your hair form the roots on wards, it says to part your hair and put 3 pumps on each line and to use 15 pumps in total.

P.S - I am having a little bit of trouble up loading the pictures onto my computer off my phone so I'm not really sure if your going to get any with this post.

PPS- I've finally found the pictures so here they are.

So I will see you next time, good bye,

Don't judge a book by its cover

Hello everyone,
A little bit of a different post today but just now I have just read this article https://uk.news.yahoo.com/family-autistic-daughter-forced-off-plane-095243584.html?vp=1#eixTbFP. It is one that talks about a family with an autistic daughter being kicked off a plane.

I wanted to write this blog post because it is something that I feel quite strongly about as I do have some family members who have this, one of these includes my brother. If you aren't sure as to what autism is, it is a mental illness that affects social skills mainly. I am not completely sure of the actual definition so if you want to know more then I will link a site at the end of the blog post for you to give a read.

I don't really know what I want to write but then I thought that I would because as I've said it is something I feel passionate about although I did want to say that I didn't think that it was fair at all because I know that if my brother was kicked off a plane I would be furious. A common misconception is that autism is just another way of saying 'naughty child' that is so not true! Yes, autistic children do misbehave a lot but they can't help it and it is nothing at all to do with bad parenting or a rough childhood.

I guess the main point of this is just to say don't judge a book by its cover, just because someone looks 'normal' it doesn't mean that they aren't mentally ill and have autism or some other mental illness that doesn't effect there appearance. Get to know someone before you make a decision on weather you like them or if they are a troublemaker so to speak.

I know that this is not really what I would normally post but I read this earlier on and wanted to share my opinion on this because it is something that is close to me  and I believe strongly that everyone else should be made more aware about things like this.

Here are some links that I said I would link for you to read if you want to learn more about autism.

How to: Pancake kababs

Hello everyone,
Last weekend I stayed at my friends and we decided to do some baking and make ourselves some fun treats, so here they are.

What you will need-

for the pancake mixture- 135g plain flour
                                      - 1 tps baking powder
                                      - 1 half tsp salt
                                      - 2 tbs caster sugar
                                      - 130 ml milk
                                      - 1 large egg
                                      - melted butter
                                     - (Or if you are lazy like us use a ready made mixture)
For the middle- Strawberries ( about half a punnet depending on how much\ how thick your pancake mixture is)
-Bananas ( again depending on how thick and how much the mixture is.)
                                      - Nutella or  chocolate spread
                                      - Skewers

Method-

1.) sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a bowl. In a separate bowl or jug lightly whisk together the milk, egg and cooled melted butter.
2.) Add the milk mixture to the dry mixture and using a fork beat the mixture until it is completely smooth. Let the batter stand for a few minutes.
(or follow the instructions on the back of the pack of a ready made pancake mix)
3.) Once the mixture is done grease the pan and then turn on the heat.
4.)Add a spoon full of the mixture to the pan, Spread multiple spoonfuls around the pan until there is no room left. (You want to make lots of tiny pancakes until you run out of mixture)
5.) Cook the pancakes on a medium heat for a few minutes on each side or until golden brown and then turn them over either with a spatula or try to flip them up. ( We weren't brave enough to even attempt it.)
6.) Once the first batch are done place them on a plate and repeat until all of the mixture is used up.
7.) After you have finished cooking the pancakes start to spread the nutella or chocolate spread on one side of each pancake.
8.)Wash the strawberries and chop both the banana and the strawberries into thick slices.
9.) Place a pancake on a skewer and then a slice of strawberry, a slice of banana another pancake and another slice of banana and strawberry, then the final pancake.
10.) Continue to put the pancakes and the fruit on the skewers, place on a plate to serve.
11.) Tuck in and enjoy!

I hope that you will have fun making these and I will see you soon.

April favorites!

Hi everyone,
As it is near the start of May I thought I would tell you about all the things I have been loving this past month.

-Rimmel london scandaleyes gel eyeliner, 002 brown, £6.99 - The first thing is my new eye liner. I never used to be a fan of eyeliner because I could never get it right and so it would always look like I had a black eye but then I decided to try out wearing brown eyeliner and this worked so well for me and since I have been using the Rimmel london scandaleyes gel liner I have found it so, so much easier to do and it's a lot quicker as well. The shade I am using is 002 brown and I find that it suits me much better than when I wear black liner. It never smudges and normally lasts the whole day so I have been wearing this every day in April.

-Rimmel london scandaleyes eye shadow stick in the shade 015 trespassing taupe, £4.94 - Another scandaleyes  product that I have been loving is the eye shadow stick in 015 trespassing taupe, I have been putting this all over my lid and then blending it as well as putting a eyeshadow on the top of it. By using this I find that it makes all of my eyemakeup stay on for longer and it doesn't fade away so quickly, I do find that this is what happens if I wear eyeshadow on its own so this product is really helpful. The only thing I find with this is that it is quite hard to blend so you have to be relatively quick so that you can blend it out.

-Tanya Burr lip gloss in the shade champagne toast, £6.99 superdrug. - I am in love with the Tanya Burr lip glosses, I have two of them, picnic in the park and champagne toast but my clear fave this month has been champagne toast. This is because it adds shine and shimmer to my lips and makes them look glossy but doesn't add all too much color which is nice as lately I have been trying to be more creative with my makeup by wearing eye shadow shades that I wouldn't normally wear.

- Essence quattro eye shadow, 14 magenta and me!- As I have just said I am trying to be more inventive with my make up so I have been doing so by wearing the lighter purple shade from this little quad. The white is a shade that I have also been wearing and I like to put this in the corner of my eye and then more into a gold toned eyeshadow and then put the purple in the outside of my eyelid to smoke it out and also in the crease. These eye shadows are long lasting and very pigmented with a lot of shimmer. (If you haven't guessed by now I am quite the fan of shimmer and glitter for my make up.)

Toni and Guy prep leave in conditioner, £6.99 from superdrug- When the weather keeps changing (and it does in the Britain a lot) my hair can become really damaged, dry and tangled so it makes it really difficult to make look presentable. Recently I have been using the Toni and Guy prep leave in conditioner and I have found it to be a real help. This product makes it so much easier to brush through after the shower. The product is meant for manageability and frizz control and it does make my hair a lot more manageable. The only thing I would say is that it is quite expensive for a 15 year old to buy so I think when I run out I might have to ask mum to buy me some more, however the product has lasted me from christmas and I still have just under half left so it definitely goes a long way. I will put a hazelnut size blob of the conditioner in the palm of my hand and rub it in to the mid lengths and ends of wet hair and then brush it through with the comb to get rid of any knots or tangles and all before drying it.

Coconut oil - Coconut oil has been something I have been using quite frequently over the past week or two. I have been using this for two purposes, the first one for my hair. Using coconut oil in your hair is meant to help soften it and make it look healthier, this is the reason why I put it in my hair over night. Every so often I like to put a little bit of coconut oil in the ends of my hair and leave it over night, I leave my hair to go greasy for a day or two (over the week end when I know I'm not going out) and then putting the coconut oil in the bottoms, brushing all the tangles out and the putting it up for the night. (It's best to sleep on a towel or old pillow case just incase it gets ruined) then the next day I will give it a good wash to get it out and as a result it will make my hair look a whole lot healthier. The second reason I use it is for my feet, I have very dry skin on the bottoms of my feet so after using the scholl velvet express pedi hard skin remover i will pop on some coconut oil and then put some fluffy socks on before I go to bed.

Alrighty, thats everything I have been loving this month.

Meet Maisie - The story of my hamster

Hi everyone,
Today I wanted to do a hamster centered blog post because a year ago yesterday is the day that I brought my little hamster home and so I wanted to tell you all about it.
Alrighty so let you tell me about the day before I brang her home, it was a friday night and I came home from school and then I found a vivarium out in the back garden, it was the one that I had used previously for another hamster that I had a few months before but he sadly died in the october of the year before. My parents told me that if I cleaned it out and got it ready then I could have it and that the next day they would take me out to get a hamster!
So thats exactly what happened, on the saturday morning we went out and searched all  of the pet shops to find a healthy hamster. After visiting most of the pet shops in the area we failed to find one that I fell in love with and one that fell in love with me. Then we went into our local pet shop however we didn't hold out much hope, until we had a look and then we found the one.
We asked the lady in the shop if we could have a look at all the hamsters and then I set eyes on the cutest little thing, it was a really difficult deciding which hamster to choose because they were all so cute but I am so, so glad that I picked Maisie. After I had picked her she was put in a HUGE box compared to the size of her this was so this was so we could bring her home.
Ok, so for all of you pet mad people I guess you will want to know about what breed and hamster things like that. So, she is a short haired female syrian hamster. She is a chocolate colors mainly but is banded with a white and some small spots of a gingery colour.
Here are some cute pictures of her for you all to enjoy.

Alrighty so this is all I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I will talk to you soon.

How to: Chocolate Cup Cakes!

Hi everyone,
My next blog post is going to be a baking one, as I have told you I am doing food tech at school and our current project is afternoon tea, so here is a recipe that we used to make these tasty chocolate cup cakes.
equipment-
- cup cake cases - baking tray
- mixing bowl - wooden spoon
- sauce pan - glass bowl
- cooling rack - oven
- Sive

ingredients-
-100g soft butter -150g caster sugar
-2 eggs - 165g plain flour
- 75g coca powder - 50g chocolate chips (dark)
- a dash of milk - a large bar of chocolate (milk chocolate)
- Daisy wafers for decoration (optional)
- royal icing (optional) - icing sugar (optional)

method-
1.)preheat the oven to 180 C and place the cup cake cases in the muffin tin.
2.) put the sugar and butter in the bowl and mix together. ( if the butter is not soft enough then heat in the microwave for 30 seconds until slightly melted)
3.) Crack the egg into a separate  jug and mix up then add to the mixture.
4.) Sift in the flour and add bit by bit and fold into the mixture.
5.) Add in a dash of milk if the mixture is dry.
6.) Add in the coco powder and the chocolate chips, for the chocolate chips we decided to use dark chocolate, and mix together.
7.)Spoon the mixture into the cup cake cases and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

For decoration-
8.) While the cakes are in the oven clean up the kitchen and then fill the sauce pan with boiling water and place a glass bowl on top. Next break pieces of the milk chocolate up and stirring them with the wooden spoon wait for it to melt. (We used just over half of a large bar of milk cooking chocolate.)
Additional step.) When the cakes were cooking we cut out heart and flower shapes of royal icing so that we could use them for decoration.
9.) When the cakes are cooked remove them from the oven, you will know when they are done if you stick a skewer into one of the cakes and if it comes out clean it will be done, and then let them cool.
10.) Next spread the melted chocolate on top of each cake and then place a daisy wafer on each one then sprinkle a little bit of icing sugar on top as well.
11.) For some of the cakes we cut out some shapes of royal icing and then put that on top  instead of the wafer daisies and again sprinkled icing sugar on top as well as drizzling the leftover melted chocolate over the royal icing.
12.) Tuck in and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Outfit of the day

Hello everyone,
Recently I really liked the outfit that I wore so I decided that I would share it with you.
For my bottom half I wanted to wear something that was more summer\ spring appropriate so yesterday I got a skirt which I wore today. It is a skater style skirt with different shades of grey running through it. At the top of the skirt it has a black elastic belt. The length is just above my knee and I find this style and length of skirt suits me really well, the colour is also really complimentary to my skin tone as well. I purchased this from new look for £3.00 on offer from £9.99.
Also from new look, quite some time ago now, I wore a white shirt with a black collar tucked into my skirt. I am unsure of the price because I got this last year and I think that it was in the sale.
I wanted a jumper to layer on top of my blouse because its not quite warm enough to go without a jumper or cardigan, so i decided to wear my black sequined jumper tucked in to my skirt. Agian I am unsure of the price because it was a christmas present but I do believe that is from matalan.
To accsesorize I put a flower necklace on. It has pastel colours of pink, green, purple and blue and I really, really love it. This is something that I got for my birthday so I don't know the price but I think that you will be able to find it in primark.
As a bag I used a small electric blue one again from primark and for my shoes I wore a pair of black slip on's.
And that is everything I wore. (P.S this was a few weeks ago now...it has gone a lot colder again now
:( )
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I will talk to you again soon.
 Goodbye for now,

Welcome to my blog!

Hi Everyone,
for quite sometime now I have been wanting to start a blog, I have been toying around with the idea and trialing different sites so lets hope that this site is the one! The idea of this came to me a few months ago but I didn't know what I would want it to be about but I have decided since one of my favorite things to do is makeup and beauty that that is what I would do. Also I decided that I would make the blog anonymous just so that I can feel free to say what I want without everyone else at school knowing.

So without giving away my identity I wanted to tell you a little bit about me, well I am a 15 year old schoolgirl from Shrewsbury who loves makeup and all things beauty. Another thing I enjoy doing is cooking and baking so whenever I do that at school I will probably do a post on it if it goes successfully, as this is a subject I took for one of my options.

A few of my posts may be on school and the things that happen, I might write about things that we learn in lessons and other things that go on in school or with my friends.

Animals are another one of my passions and I love cats and hamsters especially, and I'm lucky enough to be a proud owner of both of them. There might be a couple of posts about those two cuties as well.

Although I will occasionally post blogs about all of these things above my blog will mainly be about beauty as that is the main thing that I am intrested in.

I hope that this is a blog that you want to follow and will enjoy reading and I will hopefully see you next time. Goodbye for now,
