How to: Oreo Truffles.

Hi everyone, today I have another cooking post for you, I don't have any pictures for you but I'm going to tell you how to make oreo truffles.

What you will need-

- 200g Oreo (or any cookies\ biscuits of your choice)
- 200g Cream cheese
- 200g cooking chocolate
- A splash of vanilla essence

method-

1.) Put the 200g of oreos into a food bag or bowl and bash up with a rolling pin until they are crumbs

2.) Put the crushed oreos to one side and in a separate bowl empty the cream cheese and a splash of vanilla extract and mix together.

3.) Pour the crushed oreos and the cream cheese mixture into one bowl and mix together until they combine.

4.) Next grab a handful of the mixture and then roll in into a ball and place onto a baking tray lined with foil or greaseproof paper.

5.) Put them in the fridge for a while.

6.) Melt 200g of the chocolate in a glass bowl over a saucepan filled with hot water and then take the truffles out of the fridge and completely cover them in the melted chocolate, place back on the baking tray and then back in the fridge until they are hard and ready to eat.

7.) Tuck in and enjoy!

I really enjoyed making these and they are so tasty and easy to make, it took us less than an hour to do so I hope that you have fun doing this too and I will see you soon.

Don't judge a book by its cover

Hello everyone,
A little bit of a different post today but just now I have just read this article https://uk.news.yahoo.com/family-autistic-daughter-forced-off-plane-095243584.html?vp=1#eixTbFP. It is one that talks about a family with an autistic daughter being kicked off a plane.

I wanted to write this blog post because it is something that I feel quite strongly about as I do have some family members who have this, one of these includes my brother. If you aren't sure as to what autism is, it is a mental illness that affects social skills mainly. I am not completely sure of the actual definition so if you want to know more then I will link a site at the end of the blog post for you to give a read.

I don't really know what I want to write but then I thought that I would because as I've said it is something I feel passionate about although I did want to say that I didn't think that it was fair at all because I know that if my brother was kicked off a plane I would be furious. A common misconception is that autism is just another way of saying 'naughty child' that is so not true! Yes, autistic children do misbehave a lot but they can't help it and it is nothing at all to do with bad parenting or a rough childhood.

I guess the main point of this is just to say don't judge a book by its cover, just because someone looks 'normal' it doesn't mean that they aren't mentally ill and have autism or some other mental illness that doesn't effect there appearance. Get to know someone before you make a decision on weather you like them or if they are a troublemaker so to speak.

I know that this is not really what I would normally post but I read this earlier on and wanted to share my opinion on this because it is something that is close to me  and I believe strongly that everyone else should be made more aware about things like this.

Here are some links that I said I would link for you to read if you want to learn more about autism.

How to: Pancake kababs

Hello everyone,
Last weekend I stayed at my friends and we decided to do some baking and make ourselves some fun treats, so here they are.

What you will need-

for the pancake mixture- 135g plain flour
                                      - 1 tps baking powder
                                      - 1 half tsp salt
                                      - 2 tbs caster sugar
                                      - 130 ml milk
                                      - 1 large egg
                                      - melted butter
                                     - (Or if you are lazy like us use a ready made mixture)
For the middle- Strawberries ( about half a punnet depending on how much\ how thick your pancake mixture is)
-Bananas ( again depending on how thick and how much the mixture is.)
                                      - Nutella or  chocolate spread
                                      - Skewers

Method-

1.) sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a bowl. In a separate bowl or jug lightly whisk together the milk, egg and cooled melted butter.
2.) Add the milk mixture to the dry mixture and using a fork beat the mixture until it is completely smooth. Let the batter stand for a few minutes.
(or follow the instructions on the back of the pack of a ready made pancake mix)
3.) Once the mixture is done grease the pan and then turn on the heat.
4.)Add a spoon full of the mixture to the pan, Spread multiple spoonfuls around the pan until there is no room left. (You want to make lots of tiny pancakes until you run out of mixture)
5.) Cook the pancakes on a medium heat for a few minutes on each side or until golden brown and then turn them over either with a spatula or try to flip them up. ( We weren't brave enough to even attempt it.)
6.) Once the first batch are done place them on a plate and repeat until all of the mixture is used up.
7.) After you have finished cooking the pancakes start to spread the nutella or chocolate spread on one side of each pancake.
8.)Wash the strawberries and chop both the banana and the strawberries into thick slices.
9.) Place a pancake on a skewer and then a slice of strawberry, a slice of banana another pancake and another slice of banana and strawberry, then the final pancake.
10.) Continue to put the pancakes and the fruit on the skewers, place on a plate to serve.
11.) Tuck in and enjoy!

I hope that you will have fun making these and I will see you soon.

April favorites!

Hi everyone,
As it is near the start of May I thought I would tell you about all the things I have been loving this past month.

-Rimmel london scandaleyes gel eyeliner, 002 brown, £6.99 - The first thing is my new eye liner. I never used to be a fan of eyeliner because I could never get it right and so it would always look like I had a black eye but then I decided to try out wearing brown eyeliner and this worked so well for me and since I have been using the Rimmel london scandaleyes gel liner I have found it so, so much easier to do and it's a lot quicker as well. The shade I am using is 002 brown and I find that it suits me much better than when I wear black liner. It never smudges and normally lasts the whole day so I have been wearing this every day in April.

-Rimmel london scandaleyes eye shadow stick in the shade 015 trespassing taupe, £4.94 - Another scandaleyes  product that I have been loving is the eye shadow stick in 015 trespassing taupe, I have been putting this all over my lid and then blending it as well as putting a eyeshadow on the top of it. By using this I find that it makes all of my eyemakeup stay on for longer and it doesn't fade away so quickly, I do find that this is what happens if I wear eyeshadow on its own so this product is really helpful. The only thing I find with this is that it is quite hard to blend so you have to be relatively quick so that you can blend it out.

-Tanya Burr lip gloss in the shade champagne toast, £6.99 superdrug. - I am in love with the Tanya Burr lip glosses, I have two of them, picnic in the park and champagne toast but my clear fave this month has been champagne toast. This is because it adds shine and shimmer to my lips and makes them look glossy but doesn't add all too much color which is nice as lately I have been trying to be more creative with my makeup by wearing eye shadow shades that I wouldn't normally wear.

- Essence quattro eye shadow, 14 magenta and me!- As I have just said I am trying to be more inventive with my make up so I have been doing so by wearing the lighter purple shade from this little quad. The white is a shade that I have also been wearing and I like to put this in the corner of my eye and then more into a gold toned eyeshadow and then put the purple in the outside of my eyelid to smoke it out and also in the crease. These eye shadows are long lasting and very pigmented with a lot of shimmer. (If you haven't guessed by now I am quite the fan of shimmer and glitter for my make up.)

Toni and Guy prep leave in conditioner, £6.99 from superdrug- When the weather keeps changing (and it does in the Britain a lot) my hair can become really damaged, dry and tangled so it makes it really difficult to make look presentable. Recently I have been using the Toni and Guy prep leave in conditioner and I have found it to be a real help. This product makes it so much easier to brush through after the shower. The product is meant for manageability and frizz control and it does make my hair a lot more manageable. The only thing I would say is that it is quite expensive for a 15 year old to buy so I think when I run out I might have to ask mum to buy me some more, however the product has lasted me from christmas and I still have just under half left so it definitely goes a long way. I will put a hazelnut size blob of the conditioner in the palm of my hand and rub it in to the mid lengths and ends of wet hair and then brush it through with the comb to get rid of any knots or tangles and all before drying it.

Coconut oil - Coconut oil has been something I have been using quite frequently over the past week or two. I have been using this for two purposes, the first one for my hair. Using coconut oil in your hair is meant to help soften it and make it look healthier, this is the reason why I put it in my hair over night. Every so often I like to put a little bit of coconut oil in the ends of my hair and leave it over night, I leave my hair to go greasy for a day or two (over the week end when I know I'm not going out) and then putting the coconut oil in the bottoms, brushing all the tangles out and the putting it up for the night. (It's best to sleep on a towel or old pillow case just incase it gets ruined) then the next day I will give it a good wash to get it out and as a result it will make my hair look a whole lot healthier. The second reason I use it is for my feet, I have very dry skin on the bottoms of my feet so after using the scholl velvet express pedi hard skin remover i will pop on some coconut oil and then put some fluffy socks on before I go to bed.

Alrighty, thats everything I have been loving this month.

Meet Maisie - The story of my hamster

Hi everyone,
Today I wanted to do a hamster centered blog post because a year ago yesterday is the day that I brought my little hamster home and so I wanted to tell you all about it.
Alrighty so let you tell me about the day before I brang her home, it was a friday night and I came home from school and then I found a vivarium out in the back garden, it was the one that I had used previously for another hamster that I had a few months before but he sadly died in the october of the year before. My parents told me that if I cleaned it out and got it ready then I could have it and that the next day they would take me out to get a hamster!
So thats exactly what happened, on the saturday morning we went out and searched all  of the pet shops to find a healthy hamster. After visiting most of the pet shops in the area we failed to find one that I fell in love with and one that fell in love with me. Then we went into our local pet shop however we didn't hold out much hope, until we had a look and then we found the one.
We asked the lady in the shop if we could have a look at all the hamsters and then I set eyes on the cutest little thing, it was a really difficult deciding which hamster to choose because they were all so cute but I am so, so glad that I picked Maisie. After I had picked her she was put in a HUGE box compared to the size of her this was so this was so we could bring her home.
Ok, so for all of you pet mad people I guess you will want to know about what breed and hamster things like that. So, she is a short haired female syrian hamster. She is a chocolate colors mainly but is banded with a white and some small spots of a gingery colour.
Here are some cute pictures of her for you all to enjoy.

Alrighty so this is all I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I will talk to you soon.

How to: Chocolate Cup Cakes!

Hi everyone,
My next blog post is going to be a baking one, as I have told you I am doing food tech at school and our current project is afternoon tea, so here is a recipe that we used to make these tasty chocolate cup cakes.
equipment-
- cup cake cases - baking tray
- mixing bowl - wooden spoon
- sauce pan - glass bowl
- cooling rack - oven
- Sive

ingredients-
-100g soft butter -150g caster sugar
-2 eggs - 165g plain flour
- 75g coca powder - 50g chocolate chips (dark)
- a dash of milk - a large bar of chocolate (milk chocolate)
- Daisy wafers for decoration (optional)
- royal icing (optional) - icing sugar (optional)

method-
1.)preheat the oven to 180 C and place the cup cake cases in the muffin tin.
2.) put the sugar and butter in the bowl and mix together. ( if the butter is not soft enough then heat in the microwave for 30 seconds until slightly melted)
3.) Crack the egg into a separate  jug and mix up then add to the mixture.
4.) Sift in the flour and add bit by bit and fold into the mixture.
5.) Add in a dash of milk if the mixture is dry.
6.) Add in the coco powder and the chocolate chips, for the chocolate chips we decided to use dark chocolate, and mix together.
7.)Spoon the mixture into the cup cake cases and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

For decoration-
8.) While the cakes are in the oven clean up the kitchen and then fill the sauce pan with boiling water and place a glass bowl on top. Next break pieces of the milk chocolate up and stirring them with the wooden spoon wait for it to melt. (We used just over half of a large bar of milk cooking chocolate.)
Additional step.) When the cakes were cooking we cut out heart and flower shapes of royal icing so that we could use them for decoration.
9.) When the cakes are cooked remove them from the oven, you will know when they are done if you stick a skewer into one of the cakes and if it comes out clean it will be done, and then let them cool.
10.) Next spread the melted chocolate on top of each cake and then place a daisy wafer on each one then sprinkle a little bit of icing sugar on top as well.
11.) For some of the cakes we cut out some shapes of royal icing and then put that on top  instead of the wafer daisies and again sprinkled icing sugar on top as well as drizzling the leftover melted chocolate over the royal icing.
12.) Tuck in and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Outfit of the day

Hello everyone,
Recently I really liked the outfit that I wore so I decided that I would share it with you.
For my bottom half I wanted to wear something that was more summer\ spring appropriate so yesterday I got a skirt which I wore today. It is a skater style skirt with different shades of grey running through it. At the top of the skirt it has a black elastic belt. The length is just above my knee and I find this style and length of skirt suits me really well, the colour is also really complimentary to my skin tone as well. I purchased this from new look for £3.00 on offer from £9.99.
Also from new look, quite some time ago now, I wore a white shirt with a black collar tucked into my skirt. I am unsure of the price because I got this last year and I think that it was in the sale.
I wanted a jumper to layer on top of my blouse because its not quite warm enough to go without a jumper or cardigan, so i decided to wear my black sequined jumper tucked in to my skirt. Agian I am unsure of the price because it was a christmas present but I do believe that is from matalan.
To accsesorize I put a flower necklace on. It has pastel colours of pink, green, purple and blue and I really, really love it. This is something that I got for my birthday so I don't know the price but I think that you will be able to find it in primark.
As a bag I used a small electric blue one again from primark and for my shoes I wore a pair of black slip on's.
And that is everything I wore. (P.S this was a few weeks ago now...it has gone a lot colder again now
:( )
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I will talk to you again soon.
 Goodbye for now,
Makeup Wonderland x

Welcome to my blog!

Hi Everyone,
for quite sometime now I have been wanting to start a blog, I have been toying around with the idea and trialing different sites so lets hope that this site is the one! The idea of this came to me a few months ago but I didn't know what I would want it to be about but I have decided since one of my favorite things to do is makeup and beauty that that is what I would do. Also I decided that I would make the blog anonymous just so that I can feel free to say what I want without everyone else at school knowing.

So without giving away my identity I wanted to tell you a little bit about me, well I am a 15 year old schoolgirl from Shrewsbury who loves makeup and all things beauty. Another thing I enjoy doing is cooking and baking so whenever I do that at school I will probably do a post on it if it goes successfully, as this is a subject I took for one of my options.

A few of my posts may be on school and the things that happen, I might write about things that we learn in lessons and other things that go on in school or with my friends.

Animals are another one of my passions and I love cats and hamsters especially, and I'm lucky enough to be a proud owner of both of them. There might be a couple of posts about those two cuties as well.

Although I will occasionally post blogs about all of these things above my blog will mainly be about beauty as that is the main thing that I am intrested in.

I hope that this is a blog that you want to follow and will enjoy reading and I will hopefully see you next time. Goodbye for now,
